Bunratty
Bunratty is a lovely village in County Clare in the west of Ireland. It is well located, on the N18 between Limerick City and Ennis and only 8km from Shannon Airport.
While staying in Bunratty you will find attractions such as Bunratty Castle which was built in 1425 by the MacNamaras and the adjoining Bunratty Folk Park. The Folk Park is reconstructions of historical cottages and buildings, recreating the general feel of the 19th century (school, pub, church, shops etc).
There are some major events in Bunratty each year such as Traditional Harvest Day. Visitors can watch farmers demonstrating the art of threshing as it was done over 100 years ago. There are also demonstrations of traditional bread baking and butter making.
