Clare
Accommodation
Clare
- also known as the Banner County - derives its name from
the Irish 'An Clár', meaning the plain. Clare
contains a karst limestone surface called the Burren which
features caves, and rare alpine flora. The Ailwee Caves in
the Burren region hold geographical features such as
stalagmites, stalagtites and pillars. The Cliffs of Moher
are another remarkable feature in County Clare, rising
nearly 700 feet above the sea.
