The O2 is a 14,000-seat concert and events venue (amphitheatre) located at North Wall Quay by the River Liffey, in the Dublin Docklands.
Opened in December 2008, The O2 is built on the site of the former Point Theatre - a smaller music venue which operated from 1988–2007 - and retains only some of the outer facade.
Following the closure of the Point Theatre in 2007, the site underwent major redevelopment and a stunning, new, state-of-the-art entertainment venue has been reborn and rebranded. This enormous indoor concert space is what Irish music lovers have been waiting for and boasts the kind of world-class acoustics that great music deserves.
