County Tyrone
Accommodation
Tyrone
derives its name from the gaelic word 'Tír Eoghain'
meaning the territory of Eoghan, a son of Niall of the Nine
Hostages. Tyrone has a rich historic heritage - interesting
visitor attractions include The Ulster-American Folk Park
which tell the story of Northern Ireland's unique
contribution to the New World, and the Ulster History Park
tracing the human history of Ulster from its earliest
settlers. The Sperrin Mountains pervade the Tyrone scenic
view while Benburb Valley Park shows ruins of Benburb Castle
and give the opportunity for walks along the River
Blackwater.
