Enniscorthy is an attractive town situated on the River Slaney, 24km north of the county town, Wexford. Dominating this thriving market town is Enniscorthy Castle which was completed in 1205 and now houses the County Wexford Folk Museum. The museum houses thousands of items of memorabilia from events such as the 1798 Rebellion and the 1916 Rising. Enniscorthy also boasts several historical sites and museums and the town is overlooked by the old 1798 battle site of Vinegar Hill.
Enniscorthy has many attractions and activities for visitors to the town including a multiplex cinema, a swimming pool/recreation centre, an 18-hole golf course, several pitch and putts and freshwater fishing.
